Dragon Ball Z Budokai is a success and failure on multiple levels and on the plus side, the game manages to perfectly embody the energy and fun of the animated TV series perfectly while preserving subtle vocal talents and artistic direction with devastating precision. On the other hand, the subtle artistic direction I'm talking about gives the game a somewhat dated look and the ultimate unrealized fighting engine does absolutely nothing to augment or improve the genre.
